The IMPENETRABLE Pure Arcanist Healer Build | ESO PvP U50
What if the entire enemy team focused you — and you just didn't die? The IMPENETRABLE Arcanist is a pure-class Update 50 PvP support that stacks so many overlapping damage shields that a full burst rotation barely scratches you, while your group stays glued to full health behind the wall. First entry in Arcanist Awakens.

Who This Build Is For
This is a two-bar PvP support healer for group play in Cyrodiil — small scale, organized groups, or solo-healing a zerg. The identity is simple: stack damage shields on yourself and your group until you're functionally unkillable, then keep everyone topped off underneath that wall. If you want to be the player the entire enemy team focuses and fails to kill, this is your build. It's also the first entry in Arcanist Awakens, our pure-class Arcanist series, so there's one hard rule: zero subclassing.
Why Pure Class
Every skill line on these bars is the Arcanist's own — Curative Runeforms, Herald of the Tome, and Soldier of Apocrypha. That's the entire point of the Class Awakens series: the Update 50 Class Mastery passives only unlock if you stay pure, and on this build those passives turn your healing output into group-wide offense and ultimate generation. The trade is real — you give up subclass cherry-picking — but what you get back is a kit no subclassed healer can replicate.
Character & Consumables
We're playing Argonian for the all-around resource return and the healing identity, but Breton works great too. The mundus is The Ritual for the healing boost, the food is Bewitched Sugar Skulls for the big three-stat coverage, and all sixty-four attribute points go into Health. Battle Spirit and shield-stacking do the rest of the survivability work — your job is to have a deep health pool for the shields to sit on top of.
Why These Gear Sets
Blind Path Induction is the thesis statement of the entire build: it increases the strength of your damage shields by thirteen percent for you and anyone within fifteen meters, and increases your healing done by thirteen percent to targets further than fifteen meters away. Shields hit harder up close, heals hit harder at range — perfect coverage in both directions, and it's just as effective solo-healing a zerg. Trial by Fire is the tanky crafted five-piece on the body: eight thousand five hundred Armor while you're under any elemental status effect. Be honest with yourself about that one — it's conditional. In group Cyrodiil fights you're almost always soaking elemental damage, so under real pressure it's usually live, but don't think of it as permanent. Ozezan the Inferno is the monster set: overheals grant Armor, and every heal grants Minor Vitality — which increases healing received and, critically, damage shield strength by six percent. A monster set that buffs the strength of every shield you put on the group, with effectively permanent uptime from a shield healer's constant overhealing. If you're a new player without dungeon sets farmed, run Wretched Vitality in place of Blind Path Induction — it's crafted, cheap to make, and keeps your sustain healthy while you farm. You lose the thirteen percent shield and ranged-healing amplification, but the build's core loop is unchanged.
The Scribed Skills
Two scribed skills carry this kit, and both earn their slots. Fortifying Banner (Banner Bearer) is double-barred on purpose: the Mitigation focus reduces damage taken by six percent for everyone standing in it, the Class Mastery signature makes it generate three Ultimate every five seconds and reapply itself automatically while you hold Crux in combat, and the Courage affix hands the group Minor Courage — a flat weapon and spell damage boost. A steady ultimate feed with zero input, quietly buffing your team's damage while it props up the wall. Warding Burst (Soul Burst) is the whole build in a single button: the Damage Shield focus shields you and every nearby ally, the Sage's Remedy signature layers a heal-over-time on top, and the Intellect and Endurance affix feeds Magicka and Stamina recovery to keep resources alive through long fights. Shield, heal, and sustain on one cast.
The Rest of the Bars
Front bar is the restoration staff: Blessing of Restoration for the group heal plus Minor Resolve, Radiating Regeneration as the healing floor that bounces to three allies, and Race Against Time for Major Expedition, Minor Force, and — most importantly in this meta — a full snare and root strip with four seconds of immunity. Back bar is one hand and shield: Inspired Scholarship sits there purely for the passive Major Brutality and Major Sorcery (twenty percent more weapon and spell damage feeding your heals — no need to ever press it), Runeguard of Freedom is the panic button that converts into a burst heal, Armor, and crowd-control immunity the first time you drop below half health, Cruxweaver Armor is your Major Resolve that punishes attackers with Minor Breach and feeds you Crux when you take damage, and Chakram of Destiny is a smart-targeting group shield that gets thirty percent stronger when recast on an already-shielded ally. The ultimates are both shields: Replenishing Barrier refunds Magicka every time one of its shields pops — your shield-stacking literally pays for itself — and Gibbering Shelter is the Arcanist's signature, a sixty-percent shield on you that cascades smaller shields out to up to eleven allies when it gets hit. Fed by the banner's ultimate generation, the wall never has to come down.
Class Mastery Picks
Update 50 lets the Arcanist slot two of five Class Mastery passives, and the picks here are Erudite's Rigor and Ink-Scribe's Verve. Erudite's Rigor upgrades Fatewoven Armor — which on this build is Cruxweaver Armor — so it also inflicts Minor Cowardice on your attacker, grants Major Vitality to you and your group for four seconds, and generates one Ultimate per active Crux on a short cooldown. Ink-Scribe's Verve is the healer's dream: while in combat, enough healing and overhealing output generates a Crux and grants you and your group Major Force — twenty percent more critical damage for ten seconds. Read that again. You, the pure support, are handing your damage dealers a twenty percent crit damage buff just by doing your job. That's the magic of the two-of-five slot — it turns your healing output into group-wide offense and sustain.
The Werewolf Answer
Update 50 is turning the werewolf into a genuine terror in PvP, and a lot of healers are getting eaten alive. Wwullies kill with sustained, in-your-face melee pressure — they want to stick to you and grind you down. This build's entire answer to pressure is layered shields they have to chew through before a single point of your health is touched, and unlike burst heals, shields don't get out-paced by a fast attack chain. Runeguard of Freedom's below-half proc hands you crowd-control immunity at the exact moment a werewolf tries to fear-and-execute you, and Race Against Time strips the snares they use to keep you pinned in melee — so when they try to stick, you peel off and rebuild your shields from range. You don't die, you don't stay snared, and you keep the rest of your group walled up behind you. You are the single most frustrating target a werewolf can pick.
Champion Points & Gameplay Loop
In Warfare, slot Soothing Tide for stronger area heals, Duelist's Rebuff and Unassailable to cut single-target and area damage taken, and Resilience for critical resistance against the burst builds and bombers of Cyrodiil. In Fitness, the headline is Bastion — up to fifteen percent more shield effectiveness, stacking right on top of the Blind Path Induction and Ozezan boosts — plus Celerity for mobility, Fortified for Armor, and Pain's Refuge, which reduces damage taken per negative effect on you (and in a busy fight there are always plenty). In practice, you play this from the second line: keep Warding Burst and Chakram rolling on the group, bank the ultimates for the big pushes, keep Cruxweaver Armor and the banner up, and let your heals tick underneath. Your job is to be unkillable and to make everyone around you unkillable too.
