New World: Aeternum
2021 — 2025
A Testament to the Eternal Isle
I will never forget the first time I washed ashore on those haunted sands — a lone traveler, stripped of gear, clothes, and weapons, yet pulsing with the strange, blue light of Azoth. I was a stranger to the cycle of death and rebirth, unaware that I was embarking on the journey of a lifetime in a land where “forever” was the only promise — and the first one broken.
I’ll never forget the Soulwardens I called friends. We stood together not as mere players, but as a company — fifty voices echoing through the Great Cleave as we organized for my first War. In those massive halls of strategy and steel, we weren’t just fighting for territory; we were fighting to claim our place in the island’s long, bloody history.
I’ll never forget raising my Life Staff in the heart of an Expedition, Azoth surging through me as I held the line between my company and the void. In Aeternum, the healer wasn’t just a role — it was a covenant.
I’ll never forget the rhythmic song of my pickaxe striking Orichalcum seams — a resonant chime that felt like the heartbeat of the Ancients themselves, grounding me to the earth of a world that felt more alive than it had any right to be.
It was a realm of infinite potential, a world where we had finally mastered the élan vital and were ready to see the island truly blossom. But like the civilizations that came before us — the Ancients, the Corrupted, every soul that dared call Aeternum home — our chapter, too, was closed. Not by Corruption, but by silence.
The tides have retreated, and the Azoth has dimmed, but the spirit of the journey remains.
