Overview

The Unstoppable Plarden is the build I recommend to anyone who wants to start PvP healing in ESO. It's a Warden base with Templar's Restoring Light subclass — two of the strongest healing toolkits in the game combined into one character. With 44 points into health, 3 Heavy / 3 Medium / 1 Light armor, and Trial by Fire stacking resistances every time you heal, you are genuinely hard to kill. That's the whole point — when you're learning PvP, the number one thing that makes people quit is dying over and over. This build keeps you alive long enough to actually learn. Updated for U47, this version runs Rallying Cry on jewelry and the front bar weapon, which gives your group Major Courage when you pop an ultimate. Ozezan the Inferno on the monster slots adds passive fire damage to enemies, giving your group free offensive pressure. Almalexia's Mercy on the back bar sword and shield heals you when you block, which is perfect for those panic moments when everything goes wrong and you just need to survive. The Warden class gives you Green Lotus for healing output, Blue Betty for sustain, and Deceptive Predator for the mobility you need to reposition. Restoring Light from Templar adds Channeled Focus for resistances and magicka return, Extended Ritual for cleansing, and Honor the Dead as one of the most efficient burst heals in the game.

Gear Breakdown

Every set in this build is forgiving by design. Trial by Fire on body pieces gives you stacking resistances every time you heal someone — since you're a healer, this is always active. You don't have to think about it or proc it on purpose, it just works. Rallying Cry on jewelry and front bar weapon gives your group Major Courage when you use an ultimate, boosting their damage significantly. Even if your rotation isn't perfect, hitting one ultimate button gives your whole group a buff. Ozezan the Inferno fires off a flame projectile when you deal damage — completely passive, no extra buttons required. Almalexia's Mercy on the back bar heals you when you block, which means even if you panic and just hold block, you're getting healed. Infused jewelry with Magicka Recovery on all three pieces keeps your resources flowing so you don't run dry mid-fight. The 3 Heavy / 3 Medium / 1 Light split with the Undaunted Mettle passive gives you a 6% boost to all three resource pools while keeping your resistances high enough to tank hits that would kill a lighter build.

Skills & Rotation

Keep it simple. On your front bar, Green Lotus and Radiating Regeneration should be active at all times — these are your heal-over-time skills that keep everyone topped off passively. Echoing Vigor is another HoT that stacks with the others. Honor the Dead is your emergency burst heal — hit it when someone drops low and it refunds magicka if the target is under 75% health, so it's very sustain-friendly. Deceptive Predator gives you Major Expedition for speed and Minor Evasion — press it to reposition or run away. Reviving Barrier is your front bar ultimate — the massive damage shield saves your group when the enemy dumps damage on you. On your back bar, Channeled Focus should always be active — it gives you resistances and returns magicka over time. Extended Ritual drops a cleanse circle that removes debuffs and DOTs from your group. Overflowing Altar gives your allies a synergy they can press to heal themselves. Blue Betty gives you Major Sorcery for spell damage and restores magicka — recast it whenever it pops. Energy Orb travels outward healing allies and giving them a resource synergy. Enchanted Forest is your back bar ultimate — a strong burst heal in an area when your group is taking heavy damage. As a beginner, focus on keeping your HoTs rolling on the front bar and swapping to back bar to refresh Channeled Focus and Blue Betty. Don't overthink the rotation — keeping buffs and HoTs active is 80% of the job.

Getting Started in PvP

The biggest mistake new PvP healers make is standing still. Move constantly. Deceptive Predator gives you Major Expedition — use it to stay mobile and reposition. Stay near your group but not stacked on top of them, because enemy AOE will hit everyone if you're clumped. When you see enemies approaching, make sure Channeled Focus and your HoTs are already running before the fight starts — you never want to be scrambling to buff up mid-combat. If you get focused by multiple enemies, don't panic. Swap to your back bar, hold block with your shield, let Almalexia's Mercy heal you while your resistances from Channeled Focus and Trial by Fire keep you alive. Pop Reviving Barrier if the damage is too heavy. The shield from Barrier buys you time to heal back up. If someone in your group drops low, Honor the Dead is your best friend — it's fast, cheap, and refunds magicka on low-health targets. Don't try to do everything at once. Focus on three things first: keep your HoTs rolling, keep Channeled Focus active, and stay alive. Everything else will come with practice. This build is tanky enough that you can afford to make mistakes while you learn — that's the whole point of the Unstoppable Plarden.
